At Automotive Technology Experts (ATE), we understand the importance of providing fast and accurate vehicle diagnostic scanning and calibration services.  We service hundreds of customers that rely on us to ensure that the repairs they have completed are safe and that the vehicle will operate as the manufacturer had intended.   

 

ATE was founded in 2019 to provide technological and electrical repair expertise in the collision industry that struggles to stay current with the rapidly changing technology in vehicles.  We employ technicians across the country. JOB PURPOSE: The ATE Fleet Manager is a full-time role responsible for managing the acquisition, maintenance, and operation of ATE’s vehicle fleet. This position ensures the timely availability of vehicles to support field growth, while maintaining safety, cost efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards.


As part of the Tooling and Technology team, the Fleet Manager collaborates closely with ATE mobile leaders and operations support departments to ensure the fleet is fully equipped to deliver comprehensive solutions for all services offered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely acquisition, registration, insurance, maintenance, and retirement of fleet vehicles.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles are properly maintained and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations (including DOT, if applicable).
  • Manage vehicle health, service schedules, and maintenance records to ensure high uptime and safety.
  • Coordinate the upfitting process for ATE service vans, ensuring each vehicle is tailored for mobile ADAS calibration and diagnostics, mechanical, or glass service (including shelving, power inverters, tool storage, and workstation configuration).
  • Collaborate with upfitters, suppliers, and internal teams to standardize layouts and ensure equipment is safely and securely mounted.
  • Maintain upfitting documentation and develop upfit specs for scaling operations.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation of vans to service regions, technician hubs, or new market launches.
  • Schedule and oversee delivery logistics with transport vendors or internal drivers.
  • Monitor fleet distribution and relocate vehicles as needed to optimize coverage and technician efficiency.
  • Manage the assignment of vans, tools, and calibration equipment to mobile technicians.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, calibration devices, diagnostic systems, and consumables in each van.
  • Track usage trends and coordinate resupply and replacement cycles.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle incidents and coordinate repairs.
  • Utilize fleet management software and telematics tools to track vehicle performance, mileage, utilization, and maintenance metrics.
  • Generate and analyze reports to improve fleet performance, reduce operational costs, and enhance service efficiency.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for fleet operations.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience managing commercial vehicle fleets or field service operations.
  • Experience coordinating upfitting and equipment integration for service vans, preferably Ram ProMaster 2500s or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and fleet compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in fleet management platforms (e.g., Samsara)
  • Office and field-based with occasional travel to vendor sites, upfit facilities, or service regions.
  • On-call availability for urgent fleet issues or incident response.
  • May require hands-on vehicle inspections and tool assessments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Exude professionalism showing passion for the industry with an unwavering drive to doing things correctly.
  • Overnight/air travel required, up to 50% of the time (higher expectations during initial onboarding).
  • A safe driving record and a valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in automotive shop environments.

PREFERRED:

 

  • Experience in the automotive, diagnostic, or ADAS calibration industry.
  • Familiarity with OEM ADAS equipment/scan tools and mobile mechanical and automotive glass procedures.
  • Understanding of DOT compliance and commercial driver regulations.
  • ASE certifications or technical background a plus.
